f(x)Wallet is a user-controlled, non-custodial product. The app generates a 24 word recovery phrase which gives you, and only you, access to your account to move funds. Function X will never have access to this seed, meaning that we cannot move funds on your behalf even if you lose access to your recovery phrase.
f(x)Wallet strongly recommends you to backup your wallet recovery phrases. To access the backup features, tap Settings, and then Back Up.
Here is important information you must read.
- If you lost your recovery phrase and you haven’t backed it up, it can’t be retrieved.
- A recovery phrase is a private key that is not protected by any encryption measures. Once someone gets your recovery phrase, it is equivalent to controlling your wallet. Keep your recovery phrase away from the internet and do not lose it.
- When backing up your recovery phrase, the best way to do it is to use physical tools. For example, you can copy them on a piece of paper, or use mnemonic secret storage to backup your recovery phrase.
- In order to ensure your recovery phrase is accurately backed up, the cross-validation method is recommended to ensure the phrase is correct.
