From 19:00-23:00 GMT+8 on Oct 29 2021, 28 staking award claim transactions failed due to “out-of-gas” issues. We’ve investigated and identified that one of the nodes failed to report the correct gas limit. With this in mind, the developers added an error feedback layer to prevent this situation. Currently, all the new claim transactions have been successfully completed.
For those who were affected by this issue, we’ve decided to refund the lost ETH fees. Function X Foundation will airdrop the ETH fees to the addresses that are involved with these 28 failed transactions on or before 2nd November 2021 to mitigate their losses.
We would also like to remind users that ETH gas fees may fluctuate drastically which results in the system not being able to capture the correct gas estimation in time due to network congestion. We highly recommend users do not repeat the transaction with the same gas fee limit that was reported to be a failed one (or a pending one).
Please note that ETH gas fees are charged for all kinds of transactions on the Ethereum network, including the failed ones. And all the ETH gas fees are paid to the Ethereum miners, not to Function X Foundation. We assure you we will keep doing our best to improve f(x)Wallet, reduce errors and deliver a better user experience.
